This high-profile, officially sanctioned biographical jukebox musical features a book by two-time Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis). The production is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes), with sleek, mid-century scenic designs by Peter McKintosh, and big-band orchestrations handled by Larry Blank and John Clayton under the musical supervision of Gareth Valentine.

Synopsis

Woven together by over twenty of Ol' Blue Eyes' greatest hits—including "That's Life," "Come Fly With Me," and "One For My Baby"—the musical centers on a pivotal, highly vulnerable period of Frank Sinatra's early life. Beginning on New Year’s Eve in 1942, a 27-year-old Sinatra takes the stage at New York’s Paramount Theatre, launching a meteoric solo career that transforms popular music. However, his rapid ascent to superstardom strains his marriage to first wife Nancy. When Sinatra enters a passionate, highly publicized affair with Hollywood goddess Ava Gardner, a hostile press and crumbling record sales threaten to completely derail his career, forcing him to fight for the greatest professional comeback in show business history.

UK Production History

Developed in close partnership with Frank Sinatra Enterprises and the crooner's daughter, Tina Sinatra, the show originally enjoyed a completely sold-out world-premiere tryout at the Birmingham Rep in late 2023. Following further workshops and creative refinements in New York, the lavishly mounted production bypassed Broadway to make its official West End premiere at the Aldwych Theatre, opening on June 3, 2026.

• The Women in His Life: Broadway star Ana Villafañe (On Your Feet!) delivers a glittering, sophisticated performance as the movie icon Ava Gardner, opposite Phoebe Panaretos (Strictly Ballroom), who brings deep emotional weight to Frank's fiercely supportive first wife, Nancy.

• The Supporting Cast: Olivier Award winner Jenna Russell (Sunday in the Park with George) commands the stage as Frank's fiercely protective mother, Dolly Sinatra, alongside Marty Maguire as his father, Marty.
