Synopsis

William Shakespeare’s classic romantic comedy centers on two contrasting couples. While the young, idealistic Hero and Claudio fall swiftly in love, the sharp-witted Beatrice and Benedick wage a perpetual "merry war" of words, fiercely denying their mutual attraction. As villains plot to ruin Hero and Claudio’s wedding through malicious slander, friends scheme to trick Beatrice and Benedick into finally confessing their love for one another.

Production History

This staging originated in London's West End at the historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane, where it earned rave reviews. Following its acclaimed UK run, the entire original cast and creative team transferred to Broadway for a strictly limited, 10-week engagement at the Winter Garden Theatre, running from October 31, 2026, through January 10, 2027.

The production is anchored by the explosive chemistry of Hollywood and West End stars Tom Hiddleston as Benedick and Hayley Atwell as Beatrice.
