This spectacular, reimagined touring revival of Claude-Michel Schönberg and Alain Boublil's Miss Saigon is produced by Michael Harrison in association with theater titan Cameron Mackintosh. The production is directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy, featuring co-choreography by Chrissie Cartwright and Carrie-Anne Ingrouille (Six), sets and costumes by Andrew D. Edwards, lighting by Bruno Poet, and video design by Tony winner George Reeve.

Synopsis

A modern adaptation of Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly, Miss Saigon is an epic, heartbreaking love story set during the final days of the Vietnam War. The plot follows Kim, a 17-year-old orphaned Vietnamese girl forced to work in a gritty Saigon bar called "Dreamland," run by a sleazy, opportunistic hustler known as The Engineer. Kim meets and falls deeply in love with Chris, an American GI sergeant, but the couple is violently torn apart during the chaotic fall of Saigon. Over the next three years, Kim embarks on a harrowing journey of survival to protect and reunite with Chris, unaware that he has returned to America, remarried, and has no idea he fathered a young son.

Production History & Casting Highlights

Designed intentionally as a nimbler, more visceral production capable of playing diverse theater sizes, this newly scale-flexible revival launched its massive UK and Ireland tour at the Newcastle Theatre Royal in October 2025. Due to immense public demand, the tour expanded heavily into 2026, traveling to cities like Dublin, Manchester, Liverpool, and Blackpool, before scheduling a highly anticipated, strictly limited West End return at the Prince Edward Theatre in May 2027.

The production is celebrated for its exceptional, culturally authentic company:

  • Seann Miley Moore: The Filipino-Australian star headlines the production, reprising their critically acclaimed, award-winning, and fiercely charismatic international take on The Engineer.

  • Julianne Pundan: The recent Brit School graduate makes her stunning professional stage debut starring as Kim.

  • Jack Kane & Dom Hartley-Harris: Star as the conflicted GI Chris and his fellow Marine friend John, respectively.

  • Emily Langham & Mikko Juan: Round out the principal cast as Chris's American wife Ellen, and Kim's vengeful betrothed Thuy.
