Synopsis

Set against the backdrop of New York City, Begin Again follows Gretta, a fiercely independent songwriter who finds herself heartbroken and adrift after her long-term boyfriend and writing partner signs a major record deal and leaves her behind.

Meanwhile, Dan is a down-on-his-luck record executive facing burnout, personal turmoil, and recent termination from his own label. When Dan overhears Gretta performing an intimate song at a Lower East Side open-mic night, he sees raw magic that could turn both of their lives around.

Without traditional label backing, the pair decide to record an album live on location across New York City—using public alleys, rooftops, subways, and parks as their recording studio. The story explores themes of creative integrity, grief, second chances, and the healing power of collaboration.
